Dear Holmes Partnership Network, Board Members, Scholars, & Alums:

As you may know, Dr. Franklyn Williams (recent President of the Holmes Scholars Council and Doctoral Candidate at the University of Central Florida) is terminally ill and it may only be a matter of hours or days. Because Dr. Williams gave so much to the Holmes Partnership and to advancing our mission we would like to establish a fund to assist his family during this time of tremendous need.

We are mounting a collaborative campaign to raise monies to assist his family in traveling expenses and all of the other expenses associated with caring for and attending to a seriously ill loved one. In an effort to get this support to the family as soon as possible, we ask that you send your checks immediately. You can give to the Dr. Franklyn Williams Fund that is being established by the Holmes Partnership Network by sending a check made out to either the Holmes Partnership or to the National Association of Holmes Scholars Alumni (NAHSA) at:

Please send checks to the following addresses:

·         The Holmes Partnership, Attn: Dr. Bob Yinger, Baylor University,

P.O. Box 97304, Waco, TX 76798-7304

 or

·         National Association of Holmes Scholars Alumni (NAHSA),

Attn: Dr. Wanda J. Blanchett, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, P.O. Box 413, Milwaukee, WI 53201.

Although this is an on-going campaign to assist the Williams family and to honor

Dr. Williams’ contribution to educational reform, the first distribution of donations will be forwarded to the family the end of this week and periodically thereafter as funds are received.

Thanks for your support, the Holmes Partnership Board of Directors, Holmes Scholars Program Co-Directors, and the NAHSA Board of Directors.
