I am finally ABD.  I passed comps in March and completed my last course.  I'm writing my 1st three chapters this summer and hope to have my prospectus hearing in August.  This summer, I'm working two part-time jobs:  Policy Analyst for the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission of the Virginia General Assembly and Editorial Assistant for Dr. Utsey who is the Editor for the Journal of Black Psychology. I am hoping to defend by December '05 or February '06 at the latest.

Thank you for asking about our current status.  Since my

graduation from Univ of Iowa in 2000, I am and have been the Research &

Planning Officer at Laney College (Peralta Community college district)

in Oakland, Ca.  From what I understand, I am the second African

American R & P Officer in the California Community College system. 

 

I graduated U of I with the PhD in Higher Education Administration and

the Education Specialist Degree (EdS) in Counseling and Student

Development in 2000.

Dr. Lora Bailey has accepted a new position as director of the Early

Childhood program at the University of Kentucky at Louisville. To get

her under contract, she was given TENURE and promoted to associate

professor with other attractive benefits. All this following only three
